Hey again people!

Today I got another useful tutorial for you guys. If you have an android phone, you can easily sync your contacts to your Gmail account in case you accidentally lose your contacts from your phone or decide to buy a new one.

Most phones sync contacts and calendar etc. automatically to your linked Gmail ID. But like mine, there might be lots of phones that fail to sync them automatically.

My good friend lost her contacts and has been asking her friends to send her texts with their names (lol!). So I thought why not make a tutorial for everyone to see and upload their contacts to their Gmail accounts!

SO let’s begin!

1. Open Google Accounts. If you are not sure, follow this link.

If your contacts are already synced, you will see them there, like this!

p1

2. If not, Export your contacts to the SIM card in your phone. To do this… Go to

Contacts > settings > more (optional) > Import/Export > Export to SIM card.

Please note that these settings may vary from phone to phone.

3. Open Google Contacts again. Now, click on Import Contacts.

p1

3. A pop-up will come up, asking to choose file to import.

p2

4. Now you need to locate the file, for this… you will have to connect your phone to your system, enable data storage and choose the file exported. Usually they are in the form of Vcards with weird names like 0001 (mine was like that: D)

p3

5. After you have chosen the file, click on Import.

p4

After you have done the import, you will see all your contacts there, like I showed you in first Screenshot! In case you have duplicate contacts, it will ask you if you want you merge them, click on merge them and your duplicate contacts will be merged!!

p5

Congrats! You have successfully imported all your contacts to your Gmail contacts!!

Happy backing your contacts up!
